There are a bunch of SMD (surface mount) parts in this kit.
Generally speaking, you should do the surface mount parts first.
Put down some solder paste (not much is necessary) on all the pads for MicroSD, capacitors, resistors, and the voltage regulator. The voltage regulator needs more paste because it’s larger. Mind the capacitors, they are polarized (line up the corner notches). At some point in the future these may be switched for ceramic capacitors. That style is not polarized, can be soldered either way.
If using leaded solder, set your heat gun to about 300 degrees C with moderately high airflow. Heat each part until the solder flows nicely. Careful with the microSD slot, there’s plastic which can melt if you heat too long. The voltage regulator will take heat for much longer due to the heatsink areas and vias. Have to be sure the large pad is properly soldered, and it can take a long time.
After SMD Soldering is done:
Headers, SCSI port, Berg, and Blue Pill are all that remain. The SCSI port needs to be aligned so that the notch is by the silkscreen word ‘notch’. Put the Blue Pill such that the USB port is on the same side as the voltage regulator.
