Similar to the PowerBook V2, this board is very simple.
Always do the SMD parts first. The resistors are impossible to get to after the blue pill is soldered down.
Resistors used here are 0603, and the diode is SOD-123F. Hot air and solder paste is the best way to solder down all these things. Try not to overheat the MicroSD slot, it has plastic parts that can melt (though I’ve never melted one).
There’s a single diode by the TRMPWR jumper, and the stripe on the diode needs to point at the Blue Pill module.
The second critical orientation are the capacitors. Notice the square corners vs notched corners. The capacitors in your kit have the same edge styles and need to be lined up in that way, or the they will be destroyed.
The final critical positioning is the USB port, which goes on the same end as the capacitors and voltage regulator (U1). The ‘USB Here’ marker is collided with the resistor numbering (prototype board design).
After the SMD stuff, it’s just the blue pill, a jumper, and the 34 pin Mac Portable drive connector. Be sure to put the notch over by the word Notch or it’s the wrong way around, and you might actually kill your mac portable.
